Jeff Bezos is the founder and CEO of Amazon.com, an online book sales company.In defining the American Dream, he said,"I think people should carefully reread the first part of the Declaration of Independence, because I think sometimes we as a society start to get confused and think that we have a right to happiness, but if you read the Declaration of Independence, it talks about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Nobody has a right to happiness. You should have a right to pursue it, and I think the core of that is liberty. "
Jeff Bezos' story of success began with a vision: "I'm going to go do this crazy thing. I'm going to start this company selling books online."
In 1994, as a 30-year-old Vice President of a New York investment firm, newly married, and with a secure and prosperous ahead of him, Jeff Bezos, decided to give it all up and pursue what he really wanted to do with his life. He drove to Seattle with his wife, in a used car, and began his new business in their garage -- a totally new way of doing business….selling books through the internet. He later added music, videos, electronics, toys and clothing. Today the world of commerce has changed forever because of the efforts of Jeff Bezos.
